Career Planning and Me

Career planning is exactly what it sounds like: planning a career that makes the most of your interests and goals, suits your temperament, and maximizes your education. Traditionally done once at the beginning of adulthood, today this is a process that has become a lifelong endeavor as those in the workforce must keep up with the constant changes of the economy and the demands of our society.

It begins with assessing your current situation, not just financially or at work, but your personal state of mind as well. Do you enjoy organizing things or working within a certain time period and leaving it there when you go home? Are you better at leading people or working alone? Do you prefer to be outside or inside? Do you have political, religious, or moral beliefs that compel you to get involved in a certain field? Anything, absolutely anything that truly inspires you can be made into a career. But first you have to identify what it is that inspires you and why.

Next, take a look around. Is there a name for the job that you want to do or are you a pioneer in the field? Is there a company who is hiring or do you need to create your own? Research what is available, what is lacking, and what is related to what you want to do. Now take your research a step further. Try out an internship or a volunteer position, read books about those who have succeeded in your field, ask to shadow someone who does the job you're aspiring for. Find out what others had to do to get to where you want to be: other jobs, experience, education. And then decide if it's something that still interests you.

It's best to follow these steps for more than one possible career choice, but not more than a few. Unless all of them bombs, you may very well find something that you'd like to try. Enroll in courses if need be or get your resume, interview outfit, and list of companies ready and start applying for entry level positions. Or both. And remember, nothing is ever set in stone. If this doesn't work out after a few months or you decide you no longer like the career you've chosen a year later – or 20 years later – you can always go back to the drawing board and start again.

That is not bad for eating normal food and not having to eat only grapefruits or bacon.

Dieters Choice

How do you begin to change your dietary habits? Is it easy? Can you take years of bad habits and reverse them in a matter of weeks? Yes and no. As one begins to make poor food choices, our taste change and we tend only to crave what is bad for us. The good news is that is can be reversed. But it takes time, a plane and sheer will power.

When people start dieting, they first response the body gives is sense of loneliness. Food for most is a sense of comfort and depending on what type of “diet” you choose. The lack of cheese and chocolate can give one a sense of uneasiness. Because these food release endorphins into the body that creates a sense of well being. A lack of these feelings can cause the dieters “blah” feeling that most people feel the first couple of weeks into their new found food structure.

What is he best way to diet? And does it really matter if you decide to cut carbohydrates or if you just want to go for the 40/30/30 diet? If you decide to cut carbohydrates you will experience rapid weight loss due to the amount of interstitial water last. Interstitial is water that is located with in the cells? Carbohydrates help to hydrate the body. Hence the term, carbo ”hyrdrate”. When you deplete these, the body will loss glycogen, which is the stored form carbohydrates in the muscle and the liver. Losing 5-10 lbs or even 20 lbs, depending on body size, is not uncommon with this type of diet.

The only danger to this type of dieting is the risk for elevated toxins in the blood from excess protein and fat. The carbohydrate cutting diet puts one into a simulated diabetic state. This is dangerous to the diabetic but harmless if one takes the precautions of taking Vitamin E and ingesting the right amount of fats compared to protein.

Safe protein sources for this regime include chicken and fish. Adding excess beef can possibly result in kidney stones if eating in excess. Beef contains creatine which can be harmful to the kidneys if not enough water is consumed. The carbohydrate restriction creates this difficulty as the body is ridding itself of water around from the fat cells and other tissues of the body. Although this diet is effective it can be harmful if protein and fat are not kept in check. It is always best not to completely cut out carbohydrates completely unless advised by a physician. And as always be sure to check with you doctor before you make any major changes to your eating regime.

1. You can charge more for your products or services.
